1/4/2023 0 Comments Nissan patrol ecutalkI don't know where he got this info from, but I decided to act on it.I replaced my fuel filter with a NAPA one. My friend told me that 240sx's have fuel line clogging problems. Also when I changed the spark plugs they were whitish - this means the car is running lean. There's a certain sweet spot where you get decent acceleration but if you give it a bit more gas it bogs. it seems that when the car switches from closed to open loop all hell breaks loose and the car runs like crap. The problem:The car runs fine at partial throttle but bogs really bad when you punch it. I (mostly) found the solution to my problem. I think my ignition timing going to zero on the gauge on the laptop was a fluke - no where in the logs did the timing go way off. I'm beginning to suspect a vacuum leak again. The first thing I noticed is his TPS is at 2.8V at idle while mine is 0.5V. I also rode with my friend who has the same exact car and I logged data on my laptop (with a consult cable and ECUTalk), but I can't really make sense of the numbers. This helped a little bit, but the car still bogs. I just replaced the distributor cap and rotor, the old rotor had a good 5 degrees of play in it (cheap-a** autozone parts that I didn't buy).
